Activities
The Nanomaterial and Microplastic Task Force deals with questions relating to the size and nature of polymer dispersion droplets to make sure, that handling and use of waterborne polymer dispersions and lattices as well as redispersible powders made thereof are in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines.
Scope
The task force has been quite active over the years and established yet back in 2012 that film-forming polymer dispersions do not fall under the common nanomaterial definitions as the polymer droplets - including those on the nano-scale " are not individually available during their life cycle and can hardly been seen as solid. For the same reason non-solid polymer droplets should not fall under current Microplastic definitions" the Task Force is discussing this with relevant authorities.
